REFLECTION ON DAY 22

Day 22(31/12/2018)- LP 17 & LP 18

Today was the re-opening day after the vacation. 

Started the day with morning prayer. Collected the list of substitution periods and distributed for all.  As I had class on second period, I prepared for it  . 

Today I  got two periods ,second and forth. The topic was  ISOSCELES TRAPEZIUM.Activity card given in groups for checking previous knowledge. Models used to explain the formation of isosceles trapezium from a rectangle. As it was similar to the parallelograms, students could understand easily and  prepared the trapezium themselves.  Also they derived the relation between  areas of rectangle and isosceles trapezium from it. Activity chart helped to solve more problems and clear doubts.

On forth period, problems on area of isosceles trapezium solved. Constructions of isosceles trapezium were done by the students in groups.

I'm fully satisfied with the classes and I could complete the lessons as I planned.  Class management was good.


Thereafter, the day was completed with full of substitutions.

Reached the school on time. Went for the morning duty. After the morning prayer , HM informed that there will be only revision classes as the second terminal examination is starting on 11th December. So I didn't have periods as my concern teacher took the revision. There were no more substitutions.

REFLECTION ON DAY 15

Day 15(06/12/2018)

Reached the school on time. Started the day with the morning prayer. HM  informed us there will be only three periods in the morning and afternoon our school is going to conduct the Statewide inauguration of SAFE AND NUTRITION FOOD@SCHOOL ,a Kerala Government Project for school students to provide with better healthy nutritious food. The chief guest were Smt.K.K.Shailaja teacher, Health minister and Sri K .Muralidharan, Vatiyoorkavu MLA . 

I had class in second period. I couldn't take any lesson plans ,as my concern teacher asked me to start revision for the second terminal examination of coming week. So I gave revision problems on exam portions. The chapter CONSTRUCTION OF QUADRILATERALS discussed today.  

After third period, we got duties for the preparation of the inauguration program. After noon meal, girls were arranged on the entrance to welcome the chiefs guests of the program. 

The program started at 2.30 pm. Chief guests inaugurated the program . It was a well conducted initial of Kerala Government. Shailaja teacher explain the importance of the project among school students . It is an excellent project for students to ensure them the best nutritious food at schools.

REFLECTION ON DAY 14

Day 14(05/12/2018)- LP 15 & LP16

The day started with morning prayer at 9.10 am. Collected the substitution lists and distributed to all. The day was very tight as there were 4 absenties among us. Forenoon was completed with substitution classes.


I had class on 6th period. My optional teacher, Deepthi ma'am informed that she may come for my class observation. I prepared well. As class started , she came. Due to tension, I made some small mistakes in class and she pointed out them in my observation book. Also she given comments on my positives and improvements I had made.

Along with Deepthi ma'am, one of my general teachers Joju sir also came . He also gave me suggestions.

After 6th period, I got seventh period and 8th period also . So I completed two lesson plans. Class management was not much hard. I'm fully satisfied with the class. 

REFLECTION ON DAY 13

Day 13(04/12/2018)- LP 14 

Started the day with the morning prayer at 9.10 am. Collected the list of free periods and assigned the duties to all. I had class on the fourth period. So first two periods were substitutions. On the third  period, went for peer observation . 

On fourth period, went for my class. The topic was Rhombus and it's area. First explained the construction of rhombus when diagonals are given. As a special case, the construction of squares when diagonals are given also explained. 

Activity cards and activity charts were used for the  concept and to ensure maximum student participation. Class management was easy. Special attention given to the students who can't understand the concept easily. Lesson plan could complete on time. 

Afternoon four periods completed with substitutions. 

REFLECTION ON DAY 12

Day 12(03/12/2018)- LP 13

Reached the school on time. After morning prayer, list of free periods collected and distributed to all. I had class on second period and so I got prepared for it. 

The topic was problems on the area of parallelogram. Three different types of problems were there. Activity cards used for group work. Problems explained with the help of activity charts. Three problems were different as well as  difficult. So students needed more explanation. I tried my maximum level to provide them explanation at the simplest way. But there were little bit confusions and doubts  were left with them. More improvements should be taken.

Class management was good. I couldn't complete the lesson, as it contains doubtful problems. Noon meal duty, noon discipline and everything duties were followed as usual.   

REFLECTION ON DAY 11

Day 11(01/12/2018) - LP 11 & LP 12

Today, there was a special time table as it was an extra compensating working day. I had class only in the afternoon session.

There was one and half hours for me. So I take  the class on a smooth pace. A small revision on the topic of previous class and the chapter Ratio  were  conducted. Students respond very well.

Problems related to the area of parallelogram was the portion of today's class. Activity charts used for the steps and construction.


Ensured maximum student participation. Two lesson plans  completed. Very happy that all students understood the problems clearly. Managed the class effectively. Cleared all their doubts. I'm fully satisfied with the class.

Reached the school on time. After the morning prayer collected the list of free periods and distributed to all.


I had class on second period. Started the new chapter AREA OF QUADRILATERALS.
The concept of quadrilaterals, their types and properties discussed at the beginning.


First topic was  SAME AREA. Explained the way of converting a rectangle into a parallelogram, using models. Students understood both they have same area. It helped them to construct a parallelogram of given sides  and  area.


Models helped to construct parallelogram very easily. Ensured Maximum student participation.  Class management was good and I could complete the lesson as I planned. I'm fully satisfied with the class.

Reached the school on time. Went for morning discipline duty. After prayer, the list of free periods collected and distributed the duties.

Second and third period were substitutions. I had class on fourth period. The topic was problems on the ratio of THREE QUANTITIES. My optional teacher Deepthi ma'am and Ancy teacher came for the observation. So I was a little bit tensed.

Activity charts and cards used as teaching aids.  One of the problems was confusing and I explained it to the students. Then they understood it . Activity charts helped to clear each and every steps.


I got very good responses from my students. Endured the complete student participation.  Lesson was completed as I planned .

 After first observation, teacher gave me suggestions to improve myself.

Reached the school on time. After  morning prayer, collected the list of free periods and assigned the duties to all. I had class on second period. So I prepared for it. The topic was problems on THREE QUANTITIES of the chapter RATIO. Students solved the problems themselves.

One of the problems on the ratio of investments was solved using algebra. So I explained one more method to  to solve RATIO problems, which they already learned in previous class . So they understood it very easily.

Maximum student participation ensured in the class. Activity charts, activity cards helped the class be  interactive. Class management was easy to handle. Lesson template was completed as I planned

Today I got extra periods on two divisions to teach the the chapter Ratio, as their teachers were absent.

Very happy that all the duties and substitutions were completed effectively.

DAY 6 (24/11/2014) - LP 6

Reached the school on Time. Then went for morning discipline duty. After prayer, free period were collected and assigned the. Duties. 

My period was second one....So I prepared for the lesson.The topic was THREE QUANTITIES on the chapter RATIO. All the students themselves explained the relations among the different parts of a  divided line  as given. Only 3 or 4  students shown a confusion for it and I  helped them to clear the doubt. I could complete my lesson as I planned.

Thereafter I got the fourth period too  in my class.So I took one  1 more  lesson template , problems related to ratio of three quantities. As all the students were clear about the problems on.  ratio of two quantities, the classroom was easy to teach.

Activity cards, activity charts were used to make the class very interactive and activity oriented. Managed the class discipline very well.

DAY 1 (15/11/2018) - LP 1

It was first day of the Intership Phase-II Practice Teaching at St. Goretti's HSS, Nalanchira, as a part of the Fourth semester B.Ed programme.


I got 8th standard for teaching. I prepared the lesson plans according to the portions given to me. The first chapter given to me is RATIO.


First I introduced what is meant by Ratio ,  its uses and some examples related to the ratio. The sub unit taken was PART RELATIONS. Here a line is drawn , divided into some equal parts and relations between different parts are found. Then a general concept of ratio was derived.

I'm happy that I could manage the class well. All the students were cooperative and well disciplined. I could complete the lesson as I planned.
